One of the funniest opening lines I have recently read is “willing to lie about how we met.” Change Your Profile (just like golfers change their swing) If you have posted a profile on an online dating site and nobody has made any effort to contact you, perhaps you may want to consider slightly changing your profile. One of the key mistakes people make in their online profile is saying the exact same thing that everybody else does. “I love movies, I love walking, I love cuddling….. yadda yadda yadda. Rather then saying what everybody else is saying, say something different. Tweak your profile. Consider mentioning something you have recently done or somewhere that you have been. Change Your Picture Survey after survey and poll after poll have all suggested that people who post a picture with their online profile, consistently get a greater response from other singles on the online dating site. Some advice columnists who write about online dating suggest you should not even begin communication with someone online until you have seen their picture. Yes it is very easy for someone to use a different picture but with experience, you will begin to have a better understanding of which pictures are real and which ones are suspicious. Golfers who are serious about their game make a commitment to improve through implementing small changes, while exercising a great deal of patience and perseverance. People using online dating sites could learn a great deal from golfers. Just because you maybe initially disappointed with online dating does not mean online dating is a waste of time. Like anything in life, if we want to become better at something, we must have patience, perseverance and most importantly, a willingness to learn and try something new.
